The sun is waning and Mother Nature is beginning to turn within itself, the expanded energy of the Summer having passed. Autumn colours of browns and oranges begin to appear as trees and plants begin to let go and go within. Autumn fruits and berries adorn the trees and bushes giving sustenance to the animals and birds preparing them for the long cold winter months ahead.
And so it is for us too. A period of withdrawal begins as we turn our attention inside ourselves, reflecting on the months that have passed and letting go of those things we decide we no longer need and that no longer serve any purpose. Clearing out our cupboards both physically and mentally as we prepare the way for us to go inside to a place of rest where repair, healing and renewal can take place. The seeds of new ideas and hope continue to be planted within ready to be born again in Spring.
It is also a point in the year’s cycle when Light and Dark are in complete balance mirroring what was started with the Spring Equinox. So we can take the opportunity to Balance ourselves and review what in our lives needs rebalancing.
So now is the time to create your own sacred space within your home, garden or park on your own or with friends to be nourished and nurtured by the power and wisdom of The Earth and give thanks for what you have been blessed with this year. Acknowledge the lessons you have learn and be ready to let go of all those things eg old habits, attitudes and belongings that no longer serve you.
Enjoy the richness of this time of year and what it brings. Enjoy the sound of dry leaves under foot as you walk in Nature and run through the leaves like the once abandoned child!
Enjoy long walks with the last of the warm sunshine and reflect on the year that has passed and just ask yourself ‘What can you learn about yourself from Mother Earth as she willingly lets go and prepares to go within’?
