Summer Solstice
21st June 2011
The Summer Solstice festival is the height of Summer when everything in Nature is in full bloom, the Earth's energy is at its most expansive which has been building to this point since Imbolc. It is in fact the longest day and the shortest night.
This is the time to celebrate the abundance and the beauty of Mother Earth and to give thanks for the abundance and blessings in our own lives. All that we have sown during the Winter months and early Spring is now coming to fruition. It is time to take stock of our lives and to reflect on the journey up until this point; what we have learned and what we have achieved.
Celebrating the Summer Solstice
I have facilitated Celebration Workshops for three years or more and I am now focussing on finishing my book.
Here are some ideas for how you could celebrate the Summer Solstice:
You can create your own celebration for yourself or with friends by creating a  sacred circle in your own garden or in the park or fields amongst Nature’s bounty.   You may like to bring a small offering of gratitude to Mother Earth such as a flower, crystal, something natural you have made.
Create the intention to celebrate your own growth and achievements as well as to give gratitude for the Earth’s abundance.  Focus on yourself and breathe with Mother Earth. Allow Her energy to come up through the souls of your feet and your Base chakra and then through all your chakras and energy fields.  Feel the Cosmic energy coming down through your Crown, the top of your head, meeting with the Earth’s energy and your own.   Feel yourself come in to Oneness with the abundance of Mother Earth and the Cosmos.  Feel your energy expanding. Allow yourself to let go and embrace the full bloom of your Essence.
In this space reflect gently on your journey to this point.  What have you learnt about yourself? What has changed within you and with those around you as a result of your inner change?  What is now blooming within you and your life?  Embrace this awareness and feelings of love.
When you are ready, gradually return to everyday consciousness.  Give your gratitude to the Earth with your offering and remember those people who have helped and supported you on your path.  Celebrate with joy in whatever way feels right to you.  May be with a food feast or with dancing and/or drumming or music.  Wishing you joy and abundance for a wonderful Summer.
